Beloit Senior Blayne Harris, Osborne Senior Spencer Heise and Rock Hills Junior Zane Colson have been named the Telephone and Cable Athletes of the Week.

All three athletes are off to solid starts on the wrestling mats this season.  They all picked up championships this weekend and are all undefeated up to this point of the season.

Harris is 6-0 to start the season in the 120-lb. weight class for Beloit High School.  This past week, he won his match in the Republic County Dual by fall on Friday.  He also claimed the individual title at the Clay Center Invitational on Saturday, going 4-0 and beating Jakob Snellings of Marysville by an 11-3 major decision for the championship.

Heise has jumped out to a 14-0 start at 145 lbs. for Osborne High School this season.  Last week, he won the Ellis Railer Round Robin on Friday, going 4-0 and beating Dayne Yott of Hoisington by fall in 3:18 for the title.  On Saturday, he went 5-0 at the Minneapolis Jeff Giles Invitational, defeating Nate Normandin of Plainville by a 5-2 decision.  Heise also won the gold medal at his home Osborne Invitational on December 2, going 5-0.

Colson will represent Rock Hills in the postseason, but during the regular season, he wrestles for Beloit as part of a cooperative agreement.  He is 7-0 on the season after last weekend.  He also won his match by fall in the Republic County Dual on Friday.  On Saturday, he went 4-0 and took 1st place in the 152-lb. class at the Clay Center Invitational, beating Cael Jackson of Holton by a 9-3 decision for the championship.
