Beloit Senior Blayne Harris, Osborne Senior Spencer Heise, and Smith Center Senior Colton Hutchinson have been named the Telephone and Cable Athletes of the Week.

The three wrestlers finished out great careers this past weekend at the 3-2-1A State Tournament at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays.  All three were four-time state qualifiers and brought home multiple medals in their career.

Harris finished 4th place in the state this season at 120#.  He went 3-2 on the weekend and 32-6 for the season.  His best career finish was as a Junior in 2017.  Harris went 34-2 and won the 113# state championship.  He finished with a career record of 121-33 at Beloit.

Heise had the best season of his career in 2017-18 for Osborne.  He finished in 3rd Place at State and 44-2 on the season with his only losses coming to eventual 145# state champ Dayton Porsch of Hoxie.  Heise also medaled as a Sophomore, going 37-6 and placing 5th in the 138# weight class.  His career record was 145-26 with 111 pins, which puts him into the top 8 all-time according to the KWCA website record book.

Hutchinson tied his best finish this season, coming away with 2nd place in the 152# bracket for Smith Center.  He went 43-4 as a Senior.  In 2017, as a Junior, Hutchinson also finished 2nd place, going 38-7 at 145#.  Not only did Hutchinson qualify for State all four years of his career, but he also placed all four seasons.  As a Sophomore, he went 43-8 and finished 3rd at 132# and as a Freshman, he was 36-8 and 4th place at 120#.  Hutchinson finished his Smith Center career with a 160-27 record.
