The Sacred Heart Knights golf team claimed their fourth consecutive 2A Boys championship on Monday.  Sacred Heart shot a record 279 as a team on the par 72 course at Crestwood Country Club in Pittsburg.  Knights Senior Cole Elmore was the individual champion, shooting a -5, 67 on the day.  Grant Herrenbruck and Tate Herrenbruck each scored 4 under 68's.  Grant won the tie-break to finish 2nd, while Tate took 3rd.  Kameron Shaw finished in 6th place for Sacred Heart with a 76, while Quentin Shaw shot an 81 and took 9th place.

In other local notes, at 1A in Dodge City at Mariah Hills Golf Course, Osborne's Steele Wolters finished in second place, shooting a 79, just one stroke behind Stockton's Brady Beougher who won state with a 78.  Rawlins County won the team title with 347 points.  Osborne, who won 1A in 2017, finished in 3rd place as a team.

At Sand Greens State at Chase County Golf Club in Cottonwood Falls, Riley County took the team title with a 302 total score.  Last year's Sand Greens State Champion Tipton finished in 3rd place.  Garrett McNulty of Riley County was the champion with a 3 over 68.  Tycen Higer of Rock Hills tied for second, but lost the playoff, finishing 3rd with a 69.  Rounding out area top 10 finishers were Brady Palen of St. John's (6th, 76) and Nicholas Schmitt of Lakeside (8th, 78).
