Members of the Sacred Heart Knights Golf team have been named the NCKSSports.com/Cunningham Telephone and Cable Athletes of the Week.

 

Sacred Heart won their fourth consecutive 2A State Golf title on Monday.  The Knights shot a Kansas all-time record low score as a team for a par 72 course, finishing with a 279 at Crestwood Country Club in Pittsburg.  Senior Cole Elmore claimed the individual state title, shooting a 5-under, 67 for the day.  Senior Grant Herrenbruck and Sophomore Tate Herrenbruck tied for second, as each shot -4 for the day.  Grant won the playoff to take the second place medal.  Freshman Kameron Shaw shot a 76 and took 6th, while Senior Quentin Shaw finished in 9th with an 81.  Senior Rase Welsh had the highest score of the six Sacred Heart golfers, but still finished in a tie for 11th with an 82.  The 2018 title is the 5th overall championship in Sacred Heart's history, as they also won the 2-1A title in 1997.
