Members of the Lakeside Lady Knights Track & Field team have been named the Telephone and Cable Athletes of the Week.

Lakeside claimed their first KSHSAA State Track & Field trophy in school history this past weekend in Wichita.  The Lady Knights brought home medals in five different events, with multiple medals in two events.  All of their great performances added up to a 3rd Place finish in the 1A Girls ranks in 2018.  Rachel Miller won the state title in the 100m Hurdles for the third consecutive year, running them in 14.83 this season.  She was also the anchor leg and ran along with Janica Pearce, Tanna Cunningham and Courtney Baetz on the 4x100m Relay that won a state title with a time of 50.86.  Miller also took 3rd in the 100m Dash and 4th in the 200m Dash.  Cunningham placed 4th in the 100m Hurdles, 5th in the 300m Hurdles and 6th in the 100m Dash.  Lakeside also qualified their 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams for State.  Baetz ran along with Avery Berkley, Grace Grady and Megan LaRocque in the 4x400 and 4x800.  Kolbie Hennes was an alternate for the team.  LaRocque also qualified for State in the 400m Dash.
