Rock Hills Senior Zane Colson has been named the Telephone and Cable Athlete of the Week.

Colson capped a phenomenal senior season this past weekend at the 3-2-1A State Wrestling Tournament in Hays, winning the 152# state championship with a 4-0 record.  Colson finished the entire season perfect in the process, going 39-0.  Wrestling for Beloit in the regular season, he cruised to an NCAA title, then followed that up with a regional championship in Beloit.  At State, Colson dominated the competition.  He opened with a win by fall in just 47 seconds over Ben Hansen of Plainville, then followed that up with a fall in 5:03 over Daigan Kruger of Silver Lake in the quarters.  In the semis, he secured his spot in the final with an 11-6 decision over Konnor Pfeifer of Ellis.  Colson capped his career with a win by fall in 5:16 over Brent Escareno of Eureka.  After a stellar senior season in both sports, Colson will head to Kansas Wesleyan in the fall to compete in football and wrestling for the Coyotes.
