After Austin Kingsbury resigned as the head coach of Concordia High School football to become the defensive coordinator at Salina Central, that left the Panthers position vacant.  That position has now been filled and it has had an effect on two high schools in the nckssports.com area.

Jordan Echer has resigned his position at Russell High School, first reported by KRSL Radio in Russell.  Echer was at Russell for just one season and compiled a 3-6 record.  Echer, who also coaches track & field at Russell, is now headed to Concordia to coach both football and track and field for the Panthers.

With Echer resigning, a replacement was needed for the Bronco football program.  Former Thunder Ridge coach Otis Hendryx was approved on Monday night by USD 407 to be the Russell head coach.  Hendryx spent three seasons at Thunder Ridge from 2015-17, going 3-23.  He has an overall record of 62-73 with stops in Stockton, Chase and Claflin before going to Kensington.
