Beloit started the tournament with a 16-1 win in four innings over Minneapolis on Monday night in the first round.  They led 2-0 after one inning, then increased their lead to 7-1 after two.  Both teams went scoreless in the third, but the Lady Trojans plated nine in the fourth inning as Karson Brown drove in Breezy Schroeder for the final run.  Schroeder and Jessica Meier each had four RBI in the win.
The first round win set up a semifinal game in Hays on Tuesday with Sylvan-Lucas/Lincoln.  Beloit got on the board with three runs in the first and led 5-1 after 3.  They would extend that lead to 9-1 by the end of the 6th inning and they won by that score to move on to the championship game.
In the finale on Tuesday night, they faced Hoisington/Central Plains.  The Lady Cardinals struck first, leading 1-0 after the first inning.  Beloit responded with two runs in the second to go up 2-1, then added two more in the third on solo homers by Karson Brown and Paige Goddard.  Hoisington scored two in the 4th to get within 4-3.  Neither team scored in the fifth, but Hoisington/Central Plains plated two in the top of the 6th, then Beloit scored one in the bottom of the inning to tie the game, 5-5.  It stayed that way into the extra eighth inning, where the Lady Trojans got Breezy Schroeder on second, Brown sacrificed her over to third, then Darby Odle capped the game with a walk-off RBI single to score Schroeder and give Beloit the 6-5 win.

Beloit is now 17-2 on the season and will play in the 3A State Tournament in Emporia.  Play begins next Thursday, May 23 at Trusler Sports Complex.
