It took a week and a half more than initially scheduled, but the Sacred Heart Knights golf team claimed their 5th straight KSHSAA 2A Boys State Golf Championship on Wednesday in Hesston.  The Knights had a team score of 313, 12 strokes ahead of Yates Center in 2nd with 325.  Sacred Heart also has the top two individual scores as sophomore Kameron Shaw was the state champion, shooting a 5-under 66 for the day.  Junior Tate Herrenbruck shot a 67, 4-under par. 

On Thursday in the Sand Greens State Golf Meet at LaCrosse Country Club, the Tipton Cardinals took the runner-up trophy with a team score of 379.  Riley County won their second straight state title with a combined score of 349.  Justin Kohlman of Chase County was the individual state champ, shooting a 75 on the day.  The top area finishers were Kaden Barker of Tipton and Caden VanMeter from Pike Valley who tied for 7th with a score of 90.  Caleb Hake of Lakeside and Ben Towner of Tipton both shot a 93 on the day and tied for 9th place.
