Members of the Lincoln Lady Leopards Track & Field and Osborne Bulldogs Track & Field teams have been named the Telephone and Cable Athletes of the Week.

Both teams brought home trophies from the 1A State Track & Field Championships this past weekend.

Lincoln had a very outstanding and efficient showing on the girls side in finishing 2nd place in Class 1A for 2019.  They had just four athletes competing in five events and finished with a total of 59 points.  Sophomore Jaycee Vath won the state title in both the 1600m (5:23.81) and the 3200m (11:27.53).  Senior Aubry Donley was a state champion in the 800m (2:24.15) for the 2nd straight year after winning the 2A title last season.  Donley also finished in 2nd place in the 400m (58.91).  Vath and Donley were also part of the state championship 4x800m Relay team along with Shelbie Ford and Raegen Stewart, who finished with a time of 10:03.22 which was a PR for the group.  Stewart also added a 5th place finish in the 3200m and Ford finished 7th in the 3200m.

Osborne finished in 3rd place in the 1A boys ranks at State, scoring all of their points in hurdles and distance running.  Junior Darrien Holloway won the 110m Hurdles title in 14.91 and the 300m Hurdles title in a PR time of 40.08.  He was a repeat state champion from 2018 in both events.  Reagan Bales picked up points with a 2nd place finish in the 1600m and also finished 5th in the 800m.  Cameron Delaney tacked on points finishing 4th in the 3200m and 8th in the 1600m.

We will announce the winners each week. Remember, you can nominate an athlete from any school sport.
