Beloit Seniors Hannah Burks and Hayley Burks both signed their letters of intent on Thursday to compete in Cross Country and Track & Field at the collegiate level at NCAA DII Fort Hays State.  Both girls have had outstanding careers running long distance for Beloit on the cross country course in the fall and on the track in the spring.  Hannah Burks has finished no worse than 3rd in her four years at the State Cross Country meet.  In 2017, she was the 3A state champion, followed by her sister Hayley who finished in 2nd place.  Later that school year, Hannah won the 2018 3A State 3200m title in track.  Hannah finished 2nd at 3A State cross country this season, followed by Hayley in third.  Hannah also had 3rd place finishes at cross country state in her freshman and junior seasons.  On the track, Hannah finished 2nd in both the 1600 and 3200 at state as a freshman, then finished 4th in the 3200 as a sophomore.  She was injured and didn't run during this past track season.  Hayley has three state medals in the 3200m in track in her career, finishing 7th as a junior and sophomore and 8th in her freshman campaign.  Hannah and Hayley are pictured at left with their parents Deidra and Eric Burks (Photo courtesy of Beloit Jr./Sr. High School Facebook)
