This week, we continue the Telephone and Cable Senior Athlete Spotlight.  Each week we'll spotlight a male and female athlete from area schools.  We continue with the Lakeside and Carter Brown and Grace Grady.

Brown was a very reliable player for coach Drew Duskie on both the football field and basketball court throughout his career, but elevated his game as a senior in 2019-20.  In football, he helped lead the Knights to a 5-4 record, their first winning season since 2011.  Brown was a 1st team 8-Man DII District 4 running back, rushing for 515 yards and 10 TD and finishing with a total of 938 all-purpose yards and 13 total TD.  He also had 54 tackles, 3 sacks and a fumble recovery on defense.  On the hardwood, Brown averaged 6.2 ppg for the 12-7 Knights.  He also added 2.7 apg and 2.5 rpg on the season and shot 41% from the floor and 68% from the free throw line.  Brown was an honorable mention All-NPL basketball pick.

Grady wrapped her career with 2nd team all-NPL picks in both volleyball and basketball as a senior.  She helped lead the Lady Knights volleyball team to a 19-16 finish in 2019.  She had a team high 185 kills this past season, which averaged out to 2.6 kills per set.  She also registered 35 service aces and averaged just under three digs per set.  The Lady Knights basketball team went 10-9 this past season and Grady led the squad in scoring and rebounding.  She put up 6.3 ppg and 7.6 rpg and added 2.3 spg.  She scored a season-high 18 points against Natoma on February 21.
