This week, we continue the Telephone and Cable Senior Athlete Spotlight.  Each week we'll spotlight a male and female athlete from area schools.  We continue with Thunder Ridge High School seniors Riggs Reneberg and Iva Rust.

Reneberg participated in three sports during his high school career.  In his senior season in football, he excelled on the defensive side, being named a 1st-team All-District 5 DL.  He was fourth on the team with 109 total tackles, but led the Longhorns with 13 sacks and 11 TFL.  He also registered a team high four fumble recoveries for Thunder Ridge, who finished 9-3 on the season.  On the basketball court, Reneberg averaged 6.0 ppg, just under 4 rpg and 2.3 apg.  He finished shooting 44% from the floor.  Reneberg also competed in track and field during his high school career.

Rust battled back from injury earlier in her career to have a solid senior season.  In volleyball, she was a 2nd team All-NPL pick, finishing second on the team with 184 kills.  Helping the Lady Longhorns to a 32-7 record, she also finished with 173 digs, and registered 48 aces on her serve.  Rust was also an honorable mention all-NPL pick for the Lady Longhorn basketball team that finished 21-1.  She averaged just under 8 ppg, 3.3 rpg and shot 46% from the floor overall.  Rust also competed in throwing events in track and field her first two years of high school, missing her junior year due to injury.
