Rock Hills Seniors Davion McDonald & Jerrod Gillett have been named the Telephone and Cable Athletes of the Week.

Both players were key factors in helping Rock Hills to three straight wins over the past week.  Last Friday, the Grizzlies won 54-52 in overtime over Lakeside.  They followed that up with a 57-16 win over Tescott on Monday night in Mankato.  They finished the three-game stretch with a 60-55 overtime win at Natoma on Tuesday night.

McDonald has been the leading scorer throughout the season for the Grizzlies.  Over the past three games, he is averaging 17.7 ppg while shooting 51% from the field and 80% (8-10) from the free throw line.  Against Lakeside on Friday, McDonald scored 22 points.  He followed that up on Monday with 20 points against Tescott.  In Tuesday's win over Natoma, he put up a balanced 11 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds.  McDonald is now averaging 17.1 ppg on the season while shooting 70% from the free throw line and making a team-high 22 three-pointers.

Gillett is the second leading scorer on the season for the Grizzlies.  In the overtime win over Natoma on Tuesday night, he scored a career-high 30 points, which included 5-9 from three-point land and 9-11 from the free throw line.  With that 30-point performance, he is averaging 19.3 ppg over the past three games.  Against Lakeside on Friday night, Gillett scored 19 points and added 5 rebounds and 4 assists.  On Monday against Tescott, he posted a solid line with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.  Gillett is now averaging 14.8 ppg on the season to go along with 6.4 rpg and 2.4 apg.  He is shooting 40% from the floor and has made 18 three-pointers, which is second best on the team, and is shooting 75% from the charity stripe this season.
