Members of the St. John's/Tipton Lady Blujays basketball team have been named the Telephone and Cable Athletes of the Week.

St. John's/Tipton qualified for the State Tournament for the fifth time in program history in the 2020-21 season.  They made it to State by winning the 1A-DII Wakefield Sub-State.  After getting a first round bye, they defeated Wakefield 52-37 on March 4 before a 43-28 win over Tescott in the Sub-State Championship on March 6.  After a quick turnaround, the Lady Jays won the 1A-DII State Quarterfinal against Wetmore, 52-40 on March 8 at Beloit High School.  The Lady Jays had a 16-game winning streak entering the State Semifinals in Great Bend.  Their season came to a close with a 52-31 loss to Cunningham last Thursday, March 11.  The Lady Jays finished the year with an 18-2 record and a 3rd Place trophy from the 1A-DII State Tournament.  Their 18-2 record was the fourth best overall in program history since the St. John's/Tipton cooperative started in 2010-11.  The 3rd Place state finish is also the second best finish, only behind the 2014-15 team that went 24-2 and won the 1A-DII state title.

We will announce the winners each week. Remember, you can nominate an athlete from any school sport.
