St. John's graduate Lauryn Dubbert has been named the Telephone and Cable Athlete of the Week.

Dubbert has put on great performances over the past couple of weeks.  This past Saturday, June 5, she led the NPL Girls in a 77-57 win over the TVC in the 6th Annual State Line All-Star Basketball Game at Rock Hills High School in Mankato.  In the all-star win, Dubbert scored 45 points, which included six three-pointers and a 5-7 mark at the charity stripe.  The Saturday prior to that, Dubbert competed and medaled in four events at the KSHSAA State Track & Field Championships in Wichita.  She won the state title in the 1A Girls Javelin, sealing the title on her last of six attempts, throwing 132'11".  She also tied for the lead in the pole vault, but fell just short in a jump off, getting a 2nd place finish at 10'0".  Qualifying for state in both hurdle events, she took 4th in the 300m hurdles (47.87) and 6th in the 100m hurdles (16.54).  Dubbert is headed to Newman to play basketball at the next level.  Prior to that, she has been selected to play in a couple more all-star games.  Although unable to play due to a prior family commitment, she was selected as an NPL Volleyball All-Star for the State Line match on Friday, June 11.  Also, she is slated to play in the KBCA All-Star Basketball Game next Saturday, June 19.
