Concordia's Karly Buer has been named the NCKS Sports.com/Cunningham Telephone & Cable Athlete of the Week.
Buer, a 5'7 senior guard, scored a game high 24 points for the purple team in their victory at the Kansas Wesleyan Girls All-Star Game on Saturday. On Sunday, Buer played in front of the hometown faithful at the Cloud County Community College Girls All-Star Game and tallied 16 points while being named the defensive MVP for the white squad.
Buer was the leader for the Lady Panthers the past two seasons, in which Concordia went 51-1 over a 52 game span, including the 4A state title last year, with the only loss during that period to Cheney in this year's state title game which snapped a 51 game winning streak. Buer averaged 19.5 points, 6.3 steals, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals while shooting 73% from the line and 52% from the floor. Buer will now take her talent to Division I Missouri State next season.
