The Kansas Rim Rattlers participated in the prestigious Miss Basketball Shootout in Kearney Nebraska. The tournament had 28 teams from Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota, and Colorado, and the local team won the tournament going 6-0.

The first game was a 49-30 victory against Ravenna. Kinley Kee of St. Johns did a good job scoring and Amanda Fleming of Rock Hills had a good overall game. Bailey Brown of Beloit and Jenna Farris of Lincoln led the team to the second win over Broken Bow 47-17. The final pool play game was a big win over Louisville 57-22 as Vanessa Kresin of St. Johns and Jenna Farris led the offense. In the quarterfinals Dani Pounds of Sylvan Grove led an excellent defensive performance ina 56-27 win over Norfolk. Cami Engelbert came up big in the semi-final match-up against Lutheran High Northeast. Jenna Farris led the offense in the first quarter, Bailey Brown made huge plays in the fourth quarter, and Vanessa Kresin made the game winner with 5 seconds remaining in the 33-32 win! The championship game against Ashland Greenwood was a lopsided victory 58-34. Maggie Leonard of Marysville and Blair Bloomfield of Clifton Clyde led the offense in the first half, and Vanessa Kresin had a huge offense game making three consecutive three pointers. The Kansas Rim Rattlers are 10-1 this summer and will play next in Hutchinson in mid July!
