The Beloit Hornets American Legion baseball team has been named the NCKS Sports.com/Cunningham Telephone & Cable Athletes of the Week.

The Beloit Hornets run at the "AA" State American Legion Tournament came to a close last Thursday as they were eliminated by Ellis in the loser's bracket after falling to Ottawa on Wednesday. 

Beloit finished the season with a terrific 25-9 record. It was the third straight state tournament appearance for Beloit, who finished 4th at state last year. 

Coaches included head coach Brenon Odle and assistant coach John Krone.

Players were: Ethan Deneke, Casey Smith, Colin Loomis, Garett Schmitt, Dylan Obermuller, Lane Koster, Stanten Krone, Josh Hesting, Kevin Street, Kyle Zachgo, CJ Wilson, Seth Krier, Zach Brummer, Lance Wolting, Jake English.
