Osborne Junior Jonny Hamel has been named the NCKSSports.com/Cunningham Telephone and Cable Athlete of the Week.
Hamel has helped lead the Osborne Bulldogs to a 5-1 start in on the basketball court this season. Tuesday night in Osborne's 51-45 win over Thunder Ridge, Hamel scored a game-high 24 points, his second highest point total of the season and his career. He shot 4-8 from 3-point land and added seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in the victory. Hamel's top scoring game on the season was a career high 26 points in a 65-43 win at Victoria on December 13. He also had nine steals, seven rebounds and six assists in that road victory. On the season, Hamel is leading Osborne at 18.0 ppg and is also adding 5.8 rpg and 5.7 spg while shooting 47% from the field, 74% at the line and making a team-high 11 three-pointers.
