Minneapolis Sophomore Braedee Weatherman has been named the NCKSSports.com/Cunningham Telephone and Cable Athlete of the Week.

Weatherman finished off an outstanding regular season in two wins for the Lady Lions over Plainville/Stockton on Monday afternoon and evening.  Getting wins on the mound in both games, Weatherman pitched ten total innings, registering 18 strikeouts and one walk and giving up just one run and one hit in the two games combined.  Minneapolis won the first game 7-1 and took game two 19-0 in three innings.  With the 18 strikeouts, Weatherman set the Minneapolis school record for single season strikeouts, sitting at 127 heading into the postseason for the 14-6 Lions.  Weatherman has been the starter and pitcher of record in all 20 games for Minneapolis, pitching 109.2 innings.  She has a 3.64 ERA with her 14-6 record.  Most of Weatherman's success has come on the mound, but in 75 plate appearances, she has 20 hits in 47 at bats, good for a .426 average.  She has 20 hits on the season with six doubles and a triple and has driven in 17 runs and scored 21 runs of her own.  She has also taken 26 walks and struck out just six times with an OPS of 1.236.
