Lakeside Junior Reece Remus has been named the NCKSSports.com/Cunningham Telephone and Cable Athlete of the Week.

Remus was one of multiple players to help lead the Lakeside football team to a 70-56 season-opening win over Linn on Friday night in Downs.  For Remus, it was his first full-time varsity football experience at the high school level as he missed all of 2022 due to an injury.  In his first game, he ran for a team-high 240 yards on just 18 carries, good for an average of 13.3 yards per carry.  He also added three rushing touchdowns.  He was equally as strong on defense for the Knights, registering 11 total tackles with two for loss, a sack and an interception.
